I must say that I love this behind the scene photo of Matt Damon getting into Jason Bourne's shoes or his fists rather. |
Decided to do this review on "Jason Bourne" alone and not compare it with the previous Bourne movies.
After staying off the grid and making a living off street fighting (what else would a former CIA assassin be doing for a living right?) Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) us visited by his ally Nikki Parsons (Julia Stiles) who uncovered some old files regarding Bourne's past.
"You have to read them" Nikki insists.
By uncovering these files Nikki unknowingly creates a trail which leads right to Bourne.
With Alicia Vikander's Heather Lee on board as the CIA's new head of Cyber Ops division they are able to track Jason Bourne. The headstrong agent has some new tricks up her sleeves, some of which CIA Director Robert Dewey (Tommy Lee Jones) doesn't even know about.
"It's always been personal"
Jason Bourne has crossed a lot of people in his past and one of them is a CIA Asset (Vincent Cassel) with a score to settle with Bourne. Director Dewey orders this asset to hunt down and kill Bourne. With a blood thirsty assassin on his heels, and the whole CIA tracking him, it's only a matter of time before he is caught but with his past on the line is Bourne willing to give everything up?
The film delivers on its promise for an action filled ride, complete with intense and over the top car chases and fist fights.
I got a bit dizzy with the constant camera shake throughout the movie, I didn't know if it was my poor eyesight or the angle of my chair to the screen but there was definitely an excess of camera movements, most of which were just unnecessary.
I would have liked to have seen more assassin skills from Bourne.
I really liked Alicia Vikander's character, she was a fresh face in the cast.
6.5 out of 10 - another "Bourne" movie to enjoy, no big revelations or anything new but if you're looking for sine action ala Matt Damon's Bourne then this is it!
Jason Bourne is now showing!
