Nifty Nails with Caronia!

There's a side of me that loves nail polish. I love it because it's an easy way to elevate your look, even a simple coat of paint can level up your entire ensemble or outfit. There was a time when I even reviewed nail polish on the blog, I called the posts "Nifty Nails".

I have to admit I'm no Nail Art Master and there's a lot to be said about my manicure skills and most of them aren't good, which is a shame since my sister-in-law is really good at it too. :(

Despite my lack of talent in applying nail polish I still love the art and I try to get my nails painted although my busy schedule (weekends are usually devoted to events and blogging) I haven't been able to paint my nails lately (booooo!)

Caronia's Blue Moon Collection

When we attended Blogapalooza though I think my love for nail Polish was renewed when we visited the Caronia booth- I mean the brand Caronia is almost synonymous to nails. They've been at it for so long that everyone probably knows that famous jingle:

"Caronia...Caronia...Your beauty shines with Caronia!"

If you don't remember that jingle then you were probably too young then..and I hate you for it (kidding!)

Yes-it was worth mentioning that 90's jingle - but going back to 2014 I had fun at the Caronia booth, there was even this HUGE Nail Polosh you can take a selfie with ;>

I think it's also worth mentioning that portion of purchase of Caronia's Blue Moon Collection goes to building the dreams of young dancers, as they have a partnership with Ballet Philippines. ^_^

You can find out more about helping supporting Ballet Philippine Foundation by visiting their social media sites www.facebook.com/CaroniaPH and @caroniaph on Twitter and Instagram.

Who knows I might be back to doing some Nifty Nails posts again and this time with Caronia's help. :)

Nifty Nails: Product Review: OMG (Oh My Golly) Crystal Sand Nail Polish

Nifty Nails. Trying out Green shades and Crystal sand polish.

Because I love nail polish and I do change the color of my nails every one to two weeks and since I already have some Nail polish product reviews blogged. I decided to dub my Nail Polish posts as 'Nifty Nails' as homage to Paul's new lens-Canon 50mm f/1.8  also known as Nifty Fifty.

So, now that that's official let's go on to my latest Nifty Nails product review.

My office mate told me that my palette mostly consisted of pinks, purples and blacks and it would be safe to say that it not only applies to the clothes that I wear but to my nail polish also, so I was really thinking about going out of my usual shades. I was all the more convinced it was time for a change when I learned that the color of the year (2013) would mostly be shades of green. Which is the basis of my next to buy-nail polish but then I saw that my other office mate (who loves green) already has shades of green nail polish to choose from.

Yup. We bring our nail polish in the office and would do our nails :p

I borrowed this OMG (Oh My Golly) Crystal Sand Nail Polish. It has a glittery moss-green shade. It's actually only about P100.00 and you can buy it at the Landmark department store and it's locally made. Yipeeeeeeee!!!

Nifty Nails: Product Review: Wide Nails PP401

Wide Nails. Face it with one of my Rei Ayanami figures.

During my last trip to the Face Shop I decided to break my P100.00/polish rule and I purchased the Wide Nails variation of the nail polishes. This nail polish is for P295.00. So how was it different from the other P100.00 polishes? Well the brush is actually more flat than the ordinary polish. This actually made the application of the polish easier.

The polish I purchased had the code of PP401. It had a bluish and violet color to it which I think is more suited for more formal occasions but it still has a playful shade which won't make you look too old. It also has a shiny look which makes it more appealing.

Would I purchase another polish from the Wide Nails series? Well when I think that I could have already bought 2 other polishes at its price, maybe I wouldn't be too quick to break my P100.00/polish rule next time. :p

Nifty Nails: Product Review: Face Shop PK103 Nail Polish

Face Shop's PK103 Nail Polish

My friend Pj had asked me to buy a hand cream from The Face Shop so in my 1 Nail Polish per visit rule I got a shiny pink nail polish this time.

This shade is definitely a lot safer and more conventional than what I would usually buy. It's different and at least I would not have to worry about Paul's grandmother saying that I should only wear reddish nail polish (since Red is lucky for Chinese) she doesn't like my yellow or blue nail polishes. She says she has never seen nail polish like those.

Every time Lola notices my unconventional nail polish I would promise to paint my nails red the next time around. :p

Nifty Nails: Product Review: Etude House Nail Polish DPK 002 Wink Pink

Nail Polish on the piano. Photo by my husband- Pcheng Photography.

So here is another Nail Polish Review and for this review let's take a look at Etude House' DPK 002 Wink Pink which is part of their 'Dear My Deep Color Nails' line.

I really wasn't planning to buy Nail Polish (I originally visited the store to purchase a moisturizer for my face---product review for that coming soon) since I just recently bought my blue Face Shop Nail Polish - see my review here. But I decided to buy this since I needed a little around P100 to be able to get a free gift from Etude House. (I chose the Pearl Mask--review for that one coming soon as well)

Nifty Nails: Product Review: The Face Shop PL602 Nail Polish

Face Shop's PL602 Nail Polish

I change the color of my nails every two weeks or so. That is why I am starting to accumulate different kinds of nail polish. For this blog post I will be reviewing Face Shop's PL602 Nail Polish.

I love it that the Face Shop has Nail Polish at P95.00. This is very affordable and it's easy on the conscience to go to the store and buy one nail polish at a time.
