Events: Midnight Meetings 'Pwede Ba?' Acoustic EP and MV launch

ALL SMILES. Midnight Meetings after their set.

There is always a sense of celebration and accomplishment when it comes to having a launch, it could be a launch for a new product or a new brand but for musicians, it is the launch of your hard work through an EP, an album or a video that takes that really matters and there was certainly an air of celebration last June 4, 2013 at Route 196 bar in Katipunan as Midnight Meetings had their 'Pwede Ba?' EP and MV launch.

Formed in October of 2012, Midnight Meetings describes their music as Alternative Soul Music with Attitude. They are an Indie band who are currently self managed at the moment, which I found very impressive since they organized everything during the launch, with the love and support of friends and family but it was pretty much obvious that the whole event was pretty much organized by the band which I really admired.

SNEAK PEAK: Midnight Meeting's video 'Pwede Ba?' being played on the screen.

I have been blogging, tweeting and promoting about their launch for some time now and we as Pcheng Photography were very fortunate to be a sponsor of the event :)

Aside from Midnight Meetings there was an amazing line up of bands who would be performing for the night. (We'll be getting there in a bit ;)

The blues and the jazz started early with a good old street perfrormance from Hoochie Coochi Mikkie (Mykell Bryant Gozon), he surely charmed a lot of people (Paul included) with his guitar, harmonica and amazing blues inspired singing.

We haven't been able to take up close photos of the EP yet, but I will be posting an EP review soon (but wait there's more!) we will also be giving away a SIGNED Midnight Meeting Acoustic EP and a Midnight Meetings Keychain so watch out for that! ;)

The EP was personally made by the band themselves, even having an assembly line and sort of a factory system, each band member had their own task in creating the EP. The small imperfections to the hand made packaging of the EP make it more endearing since you know that the band made it with their own hands.

Midnight Meetings

RedLightGo! started the show with their infectious and upbeat songs.

I really enjoyed the performance of 'Never the Strangers'
The songs were beautifully written and the use of the synthesizers were also very unique.

In between bands, there were also fun games and prizes plus two Coloud Headphones would also be given away during the event (I got the white one! ^_^)

LOVE and SUPPORT from family and friends during the EP and MV launch.

It was really a pleasure to watch Silent Sanctuary perform - I love their harmonies and any band with a violin is a plus and they have a cello also!

The band gave a salute to all the hard working OPM bands out there. They also have a spankin' BRAND NEW ALBUM OUT-Monodramatic. Read about the details here!

Ashley Gosiengfiao of Midnight Meetings shares her sweet vocals to one of the tracks in the new album.

Monodramatic will be out this June. Make sure you grab a copy!

For more details make sure to like their Facebook page here.

I think that Silent Sanctuary is very endearing is because of the 'singing-from-a-broken-heart vocals' and the violin and the cello are such beautiful and unique additions to the music you can't help but fall in love with it.

Kuya Monty of Mayonnaise. Yeah -it's 'Kuya' coz we tight like that :)

Finally got to catch Mayonnaise perform - work got in the way during the last two gigs but I was on leave from work for this event :) I just love their harmonies and tongue-in-cheek lyrics:

Ndi naman tayo pero parang
Dahil ang saya, saya, saya, saya,

Of course Kuya Monty was wearing a Paramore shirt (and even played a few chords of "Ain't it Fun?") and it wasn't even Paramore Night- a true Parawhore through and through!

After Mayonnaise, was the hilariously funny Hansom who mixed comedy and music like no other. I was also impressed with their funny vernacular lyrics just like:
I found Cubao
and now I know the way around Cubao

The band reminded me of Blink 182 and Sum 41 but with a wider genre.

Then came time for the video premiere of 'Pwede Ba?' and after some technical difficulties the video finally played on the screen. It was a fun and nicely done video which showed want a seemingly nice girl would do when she takes unrequited love into her own hands- without giving too much away let's say that the sweet girl facade disappears from there. ;)

Make sure to check out the video and to support it when it comes on in the countdowns. To get updates on the band make sure to like them on Facebook here

In your eyes

Of course the band played their very own set which showcases their unique, kind of music and each of them as musicians in their own right. It was a very successful night not just for the band but for OPM as well, since our very own bands and musicians continue bringing their music out there. It was also a beautiful night to celebrate having loved ones, families and friends that support you in whatever endeavor you set out to do.

Make sure that you guys keep out for bigger things from Midnight Meetings! Like their Facebook page for more updates and we'll also be posting an EP review soon as well as mechanics for our SIGNED Midnight Meetings Acoustic EP and Midnight Meetings keychain soon!

More MORE photos of the event make sure to check out the album on our Facebook Page! :)
