ABL Semi-Finals Philippine Patriots vs. Indonesia Warriors

Rob Wainright warming up with a reverse jam.

The home team (Philippine Patriots) sure pulled out all the stops at the first game of the ABL Semi-Finals between the Philippine Patriots and Indonesia Warriors last May 27, 2012 at the Ynares Sports Complex in Pasig City.

There was a bus load of kids in white (matching the home team's color) who were cheering the home team. Literally there was a bus parked outside and it would only be safe to assume that that was the transportation of the children. Speaking of a bus load of kids,  they obviously rehearsed as their tiny voices rang in the air with cheers of 'defense' and 'offense' it was a good thin they did not mix up the two during the game.

Warm up with AJ.

Eddie Laura laying it in.

Mario Wusang defending the big Nikea Miller

Anthony Johnson passing the ball.

Giant cardboard cut out of the players heads' were paraded around the court as if the cheering was not taunting enough for the visitor team; now you have five feet of your enemie's face being flashed in front of you. Just think how it was everytime the visitor team had to throw a free throw. The kids also brought a drum set along and the visitor team had their own drum set too- so yes it was very noisy inside the gym.

The usually cool air-conditioned gym was warm since there were a lot of spectators watching the game. Things were getting hot in the gym as well with fould being called or not being called. Fingers were pointing, people were shouting and a too hyped up audience just made this worse.

During the first two quarters the Warriors had a steady lead against the Patriots but the Patriots came alive during the thrid quarter with continuous 3 point shots and these shots just got the crowd to go wild. Spectators were up on their seats and even the elderly preferred to stand up because of the excitement.

Unfortunately even if the Patriots were on fire during the third quarter this was quickly put out by the Warriors and the game ended 64 to 73 in favor of the Warriors.
