Events: Mickey Mouse Celebrates 90 Years of Magic in the Philippines at ‘Share-A-Smile’ Fair in SM

Mickey Mouse kicks off his 90thanniversary celebration in the Philippines through the ‘Share-A-Smile’retail campaign with SM. Celebrating 90 years of Mickey being The True Original and 60 #AweSM years of retail innovation, The Walt Disney Company Philippines and SM Supermalls and SM Retail team up for a spectacular Mickey Mouse experience with ‘Share-A-Smile’ – a retail campaign with SM celebrating Mickey’s 90th anniversary in the Philippines. With Mickey-inspired merchandise – from shirts, toys, bags, and so much more – fans of the beloved Mickey Mouse can definitely kick-off Mickey’s birthday celebrations in the Philippines starting this September. Until October 31, SM mall-goers are in for an immersive retail experience across 10 SM supermalls in Metro Manila.

Until October 31, wear the iconic Mickey by choosing from 60-exclusively designed Mickey-inspired shirts from SM Youth. The 60 Tees for 60 Years shirts tell the story of the iconic Mickey Mouse and how he remains to be the icon of style icons through the years.

As part of the celebration, Disney and SM are releasing special-edition Mickey and Minnie plush toys marking the milestones of both companies, which will be available on Toy Kingdom nationwide.

More so, celebrating Mickey’s anniversary comes with a bonus! For a minimum spend of Php1,000 for any Mickey ‘Share-A-Smile’ / SM 60th merchandise or Mickey Classic products, shoppers are entitled to a limited edition Mickey Tote Bag for free! Shoppers can choose from four designs.

SM Launches 60th Anniversary Celebrations

SM launched its 60th Anniversary celebrations by lighting up the iconic Mall of Asia globe, and with it, starting off a series of exciting 60 themed visual attractions, fun experiences, and interactive activities for its customers from May to October in SM malls nationwide.

The SM story began in 1958 when founder Henry Sy, Sr. opened the first Shoemart store in downtown Manila, introducing exciting new merchandising and retailing concepts.  At that time, Mr. Sy, who has been honored as the Father of Philippine Retail by the Philippine Retailers Association, thought that if he could sell a pair of shoes to every Filipino, he could be a successful man.

In the 1960s, Shoemart expanded its shoe store chain and became one of the pioneers in the new urban centers in Makati and Cubao.

SM -LTO TIE UP FOR DRIVER’S LICENSE RENEWAL

The LTO Driver’s Renewal Office in SM City North EDSA is conveniently located at The Government Service Express Center, The Annex, Lower Ground Floor. SM Business Centers and SM Bills Payment Counters now accept payments for license renewal as well.



The Land Transportation Office (LTO) and SM recently signed a memorandum of agreement to bring Drivers’ license renewal closer, easier and more convenient to the public at SM City North EDSA. 

 

This partnership will also give mallgoers the opportunity to have their licensed processed while shopping, having fun, and doing their other errands in SM Malls.

 

The partnership allows LTO to set up and operate Driver’s License Renewal Centers(DLRC) at selected malls such as SM City North EDSA, SM City Pampanga, SM City Manila, SM City Cebu, SM Southmall, SM Mall of Asia, SM City San Jose Del Monte, SM City Davao, SM Seaside City Cebu and SM City Cabanatuan, from Mondays to Saturdays from 10am to 9pm excluding legal holidays, special non-working days and work suspensions declared by the government.

 

LTO Chief Asec. Edgar Galvante graced the MOA signing together with LTO Executive Director Atty. Romeo Vera Cruz, LTO-NCR Regional Director Atty. Clarence Guinto, SM Supermalls President Annie Garcia, SM Mart, Inc. Executive Vice President Ricky Lim and Vice President for Business Center Operations Dennis Yaw.

Also present are SM Mart, Inc. Vice President for Business Center Operations Dennis Yaw, LTO Executive Director Atty. Romeo Vera Cruz, and LTO-NCR Regional Director Atty. Clarence Guinto. With this partnership, the public can expect more DLRCs in various SM malls nationwide. This is one way to serve the public better and to bring the government servicescloser, easier and conveniently to the public.


 

The Driver’s License Renewal Center (DLRC) at SM City North EDSA is conveniently located at the Government Service Express at The Annex, LTO’s Drivers License Renewal together with other government service counters such as Philippine Postal Corporation, PhilHealth, SSS, GSIS, and Pag-IBIG.

 

The Government Service Center at SM City North EDSA is a one-stop venue for various government service counters such as Philippine Postal Corporation, PhilHealth, SSS, GSIS, and Pag-IBIG.

 

Likewise, SM Business Centers and SM Bills Payment Counters now accept payments for license renewal, and will serve as an alternate receiving and payment counters to augment the LTO central office; accepting cash payments from LTO clients with Order of Payment forms from 10:00am to 7:00pm every day.

 

Meanwhile, SM Business Centers offer PSA (formerly NSO) applications for birth, marriage, and death certificates; PRC renewals of professional licenses; DTI consumer welfare services and renewal of business name; and Ombudsman Clearance applications.

 

Moreover, SM Bills Payment counters located in The SM Store, SM Supermarket, SM Hypermarket and Savemore, accept payments for contributions and/or loans for the Social Security System, Pag-IBIGPhilHealth and National Home Mortgage Finance Corporationand Armed Forces & Police Mutual Benefit Association, Inc. (AFPMBAI); and payment of fines for tickets issued by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

 

The LTO Driver’s License Renewal Center (DLRC) is one of the many services SM extends beyond shopping to its customers.
