About “Glass”

From “Unbreakable,” Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn as does Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, known also by his pseudonym Mr. Glass. Joining from “Split” are James McAvoy, reprising his role as Kevin Wendell Crumb and the multiple identities who reside within, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, the only captive to survive an encounter with The Beast.

Following the conclusion of “Split,” Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.

This riveting culmination of his worldwide blockbusters will be produced by Shyamalan and Jason Blum, who also produced the writer/director’s previous last two films. They produce again with Ashwin Rajan and Marc Bienstock, and Steven Schneider, who will executive produce.

Movies: Charlize Theron Plays Lethal Spy In Hyper-Action Flick “Atomic Blonde”

Academy award winner Charlize Theron (“Monster”) stars in her latest kick-ass movie “Atomic Blonde” as Agent Lorraine Broughton, the MI6’s deadliest operative who is sent to Berlin to uncover an espionage ring before the world’s secrets become public.

Theron says that she has truly connected with her role as a top MI6 agent sent to save Britain one kick and punch at a time. “The thing that I liked about Lorraine is the fact that I connected with everything”, she works together with embedded station Chief David Percival (James McAvoy) to navigate her way through the deadliest game of spies but as the clock ticks, everyone who gets close to her, ends up dead.

Charlize Theron suits up as the most lethal of assassins in “Atomic Blonde”, a breakneck action-thriller that follows Theron’s Agent Lorraine Broughton, considered as MI6’s most skilled agent in the midst of a ticking time bomb of a city simmering with revolution and double-crossing hives of traitors.

Directed by acclaimed David Leitch, filmmaker behind hits such as “John Wick” films and the director of the upcoming “Deadpool 2”, “Atomic Blonde” is also based on the Oni Press graphic novel series “The Coldest City” by Anthony Johnston and illustrated by Sam Hart.

MOVIES: THE CRITICS AGREE – “SPLIT” BRINGS SHYAMALAN BACK TO FINE FORM

With a 78 percent Fresh rating at reviews-aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, Universal Pictures' new suspense thriller Split starring James McAvoy has undeniably marked the official comeback story of filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan.

As critic John DeFore writes in The Hollywood Reporter, “genre fans should embrace what is arguably the director's most satisfying picture since The Sixth Sense. In some quarters, it will generate talk of a comeback for a filmmaker who has suffered both critical drubbing and box-office humiliation over the past decade.”

Writer-director M. Night Shyamalan felt there were only a handful of actors who could play the demanding role of a man with 23 personalities in Split. It was paramount for Shyamalan that Kevin’s personalities not be viewed as caricatures but as fleshed out personas that audiences would embrace with sympathy.

Shyamalan saw McAvoy as absolutely up for the challenge. “This is the most complex character I’ve ever written. I was thinking, ‘Does he understand what I’m asking him to do in this piece?’ And he did; I’ve never worked with an actor so fearless.”

Moviegoers were first introduced to the mysterious and intricate universe of M. Night Shyamalan in 1999 with the worldwide phenomenon The Sixth Sense, which was followed by such blockbusters as Unbreakable and Signs.

The filmmaker began a new chapter in 2015 with his terrifying The Visit, which grossed almost $100 million worldwide. Following the same model as that movie’s production—and to allow for complete creative freedom—Shyamalan made the decision to return to his independent roots by self-financing Split.

“I want to make something new with every single film by doing something that nobody’s ever done,” Shyamalan says. “That’s exciting for me, and it’s also dangerous and problematic, especially when selling it to the world.”

With a more intimate setup, Shyamalan was able to primarily focus his energies on the story and character development by eliminating some of the noise and variables that come with a larger film. “It’s easy to knock me out of my comfort zone, which is a reason why I make smaller movies,” Shyamalan says. “That way I can turn down certain factors so I can hear that creative voice telling me if something we’re doing is off track.”

Shyamalan’s filmmaking style also goes beyond a single genre. “Each film is uniquely his own,” says executive producer Steven Schneider. “He weaves together folktales, legends and other narratives, and blends them with his background and experience. All of his films cover complex themes and characters, and I was amazed by the depth of Split.”

Schneider believes audiences will not only be entertained by Split, but they will be challenged by it. “My hopes are as ambitious as Night’s that the film’s strength in storytelling will spark debate about the complexities of human identity,” he says.

Action, Suspense and a New Igor Bring a New Twist in "Victor Frankenstein"

"You all know the story.

A clap of lightning.

A mad genius.

An unholy creation."

Yes, we all know the story but do we know of the monster or of the man? 

Both entertaining and exciting 'Victor Frankenstein' adds action and suspense to the original Gothic Romance novel by Mary Shelly. With powerful and impressive performances from James McAvoy as the eponymous Victor Frankenstein and Daniel Radcliffe as a re-imagined Igor. 

The film opens with an exciting circus escape but without first establishing the brilliance of a hunchback clown in the field of science. The fast-paced turn of events carries throughout the movie, not even slowing down through a blossoming romance. 

There were many interesting camera work and angles which were used, it has to be noted that Director Paul McGuigan also directed episodes of BBC's "Sherlock" and you see hints of this throughout the film, as well as the relationship between Frankenstein and Igor which seem to mirror that of Sherlock's and Watson. 

Being a passer of the Nurisng Board Exams, I really enjoyed the vintage Anatomy sketches (Anatomy & Physiology was one of my favorite subjects) that were featured in the movie. 

It's nice to see McAvoy & Radcliffe step away from their well known roles of Professor X and Harry Potter and embrace their new roles as Frankenstein and Igor. 

James McAvoy is a convincing mad genius, complete with the poor social skills and quick-fire ideas. Daniel Radcliffe secretly steals the spotlight as a kind-hearted Igor. 

7/10 ⭐️ Victor Frankenstein is an interesting fresh take on a classic story. It educates us on the man who created the monster and is a fun ride filled with excitiment in every corner. 

 “Victor Frankenstein” opens on November 25 in (Phils.) cinemas from 20^th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.
