Fandom Capital celebrates it's First Year with Along Van Buren

Fashion and music have always come together, plus wearing band shirts is always fun, it's a testament to a band that you love. That's why we're really excited that two of our favorite groups from music and fashion are working together.

Fandom Capital, whose designs and items we love plus local band Along Van Buren who we just featured on the blog have partnered together to mark Fandom Capital's first year anniversary. The boys of Along Van Buren will be rocking F.C. (Fandom Capital) shirts and you can also pick up your orders during their gigs!

One of the founding principles of Fandom Capital is getting different people who share the same love and passion for music, TV and music together. Which is why being represented by a young local band who share the same spunk & passion for music that Fandom Capital does is exciting! You can hear this passion in the band's original songs & covers, you can also see it in their live performances.

Shirts purchased from Fandom Capital will also come with a Along Van Buren sticker! For a limited only though-so hurry!!!

Fandom Capital gave fans a pecial treat by empowering them to choose designs which were already phased out and the winners were....Echosmith and Bastille!

The flow of good news continues with the announcement that Fandom Capital is in the final stages of it's webstore-which will make online shopping so much easier!

With the new webstore you need not go through the tedious process of filling out forms. You can also see if an item that you want is still available and you'll get to see how many shirts are left before a design is sold out.

Fandom Capital is looking to making a limited number of shirts & bags to offer more exclusivity - which is why you shouldn't wait up on those orders!

Visit the webstore now! -> https://fandomcapital.checkout.ph

Don't forget to like Fandom Capital and Along Van Buren on Facebook for more updates!

Stormtrooper Shirts from 1 Seventeen Degrees

Sometimes when you want something done - you just got to do it yourself.

I've wanted a Stormtrooper shirt for sometime now but haven't really been able to come across any, probably because we're not really mall people and shopping really isn't an activity when we're at Toycon, since there's too many people to compete with.

So I went on to Google and found a Trooper art I liked and had it printed on a shirt!

Credits to the owner of course :)

Paul liked it so he had one made for himself too!

I love the print - it's really nice and thick :)

They're on Facebook and Instagram!

Pick It, Zip It, Keep It-with Clothes Buffet Manila!

Despite being an all around Geek/Otaku/Music Lover sporting band and geek shirts most of the time,
I'm still a girl standing in front of her closet - wanting more clothes! (I mean-seriously what girl doesn't want more clothes-right?)

Which is why Clothes Buffet Manila has piqued up my interest with their fun, exciting and revolutionary concept for shopping!

Think-The Hunger Games but instead of having to kill each other you get to grab as much clothes as you can (in a limited time frame of course- 15 minutes! )Now, I don't mind having my name picked out during the reaping if it was that kind of Hunger Games - May the odds be ever in your favor indeed!

PICK IT

So here is the low down:

There are over 30,000 pieces of brand new clothes (no second hand or pre-loved clothes here) from your favorite brands laid out before you- you are armed with a 33cm x 23cm ziplock bag in which to fit in as much clothes as you can in 15 minutes!

The current record for most clothes placed in a bag is 15 - I think I can beat that- Challenge Accepted!

Sizes range from Small- Medium - Large depending on the stocks.

Just to get your head in the game (because when you think about it - it really is a game and I intend to win it) and to make things easier for you, the clothes are grouped into 3 categories:

SMART CHIC

GIRLS'S NIGHT OUT

FESTIVAL MADNESS

ZIP IT

As you can see in the photo above, clothes have been stuffed and packed in the official buffet bags, looking at the photo, I'm suddenly thinking if I should practice folding clothes under time pressure, as my husband, sisters and mom have witness I can not fold clothes properly to save my life! So maybe a bit of practice would be a good idea.

Oh! Just remember in your excitement not to destroy the bag, a damaged buffet bag is going to cost you a P100.00.

KEEP IT

So how do you get to experience this super fun and unique way of shopping? Well luckily for you, you don't have to live in District 12 and have your name picked out of a bowl, all you have to do is book your slot for Clothes Buffet Manila it will run for two days, October 17-18, 2014 at the Aiato Penthouse, Il Terazzo, 305 Tomas Morato Cor. Sct Madrinan, Quezon City.

There are 60 slots per wave or batch of shoppers who will go through the buffet floor to pick out the clothes they want to take home- all you have to do is to book a slot for P1,999.00 and you're in!

When you think about it, you can't get 15 pieces of clothing for that price! Remember though that the number of clothes that you take home will all depend on you and how you play the game.

Event Announcement: Marble Wonderland

Gone are the days when people would think that you are different for liking anime or anything out of the norm. Growing up I remember being ostracized and thought of as 'weird' because my friends and I were into anime, Japanese culture and music. I remember my mom begging me to stop listening to anime cassette tapes I purchased at Comic Alley (their first ever branch in Greenhills and if you don't know what a cassette tape is feel free to Google-yes, I feel old just writing this).

Kids these days are lucky that individuality is celebrated, whether it is Anime, Cosplay, Japanese music or fashion (yes, even Korean Pop). Conventions and events are always happening and kids who are just looking for a venue to celebrate their passions and interest are (honestly) lucky enough to have these events where they can meet other people who share the same interests that they do.

While conventions are mostly an annual event and the activities are pretty much predictable and the same, something brand new is around the corner and this is MARBLE WONDERLAND which is the BIGGEST Fashion and Cosplay event of 2014!

So what is Marble Wonderland all about? Well, it's concept was adopted from the "Cool Japan Project" which is sponsored by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), it's objective is to spread the Kawaii or 'cute' culture in the Philippines through various mediums in the media.

The event will feature collections inspired by Kawaii (cute) Japanese culture (a fourteen year old me is just screaming inside)

Aside from the fashion show and the exhibit the event also feature's the Philippines' very own Cosplay Queen Alodia Gosiengfiao.

When Passion Meets Fashion: Skater Skirt: Wedge Sneakers and Cropped Top

Continuing in our direction to doing some fashion posts here are some favorite finds from some of my favorite online stores. :)

My former colleague Danice combines her passion for fashion and earns a few on the side by selling clothes and fashion items like flower crowns and earrings - I'll be doing a separate post for the flower crowns so watch out for that! :)

What's great about Danice is that she thinks of clothes that would suit your body type and style. I have asked her to buy clothes for me before, I remember attending a wedding, where in guests were asked to come in white. I was so busy during that time I didn't even have time to shop for my own dress and Danice was able to pick out a great dress for me. So she can be a great personal shopper too! :)

You can check out her items for Sale here.

Package from Danice.

Wearing a Skater Skirt from Danice and Temptation Black Wedge Sneakers from Berca Shoe store.

Ever since I saw Danita Paner wearing a pair of Wedge Sneakers during The Yellow Room Night where her band Ferown performed I knew I wanted a pair.

I knew she got her wedge sneakers from Berca Shoe Store so I followed the store on their Instagram and Facebook page and I was in love with their shoes!

When I finally ordered my pair - it was shipped immediately the next day! Fast and smooth transaction! :)

I just love my Temptation Black Wedge Sneakers from Berca it combines the comfort of sneakers with the advantage that you get from wearing a pair of Wedge shoes.

I'm at 4'10 so I need every cheat in the book - heels, wedge, you name it. Now I've had my own pair of wedge shoes and I've had my own accidents with them, from tripping, to falling on my face and all of that is lessened when I'm wearing my Wedge Sneakers! :)

Aside from the accidents, walking around in wedges and heels can be very tiring - if your feet can cry - they will but with Wedge Sneakers that discomfort is diminished significantly.

Make sure to check out Danice's clothes for sale here and to like Berca Shoe Store here.

Wearing a Pink Cropped Shirt from Forever 21 - shopped by Danice. :)
The skateboard is Paul's
We'll be posting another fashion blog post on a flower crown from Danice soon! :) For anyone interested to have their clothing line featured or for aspiring models - I don't fit the bill - just let us know and we'll be happy to work on a collaboration. :)

30 Seconds To Mars: We were the Kings and Queens of Promise: Shirt from New Heart Prints

Now I'm no Julz Savard but I just had to do this blog post showing this great 30 Seconds to Mars: We were the Kings and Queens of Promise shirt from We Heart Prints.

I first saw this shirt during the 30 Seconds to Mars: Lust Faith + Dreams album launch blog post here it was given away as prizes to the games of the event and I wanted my own. :)

So after some time I got in contact with We Heart Prints you can check out their Facebook page here and they were happy to send me my very own shirt :)

I believe the shirt is available in Black, Grey and White :)

Post from We Heart Prints

Post from We Heart Prints

I know the shirt is a little big for me (petite girl problems) I may need to have it resized but I still love it! The print is very vivid, another thing I love about the design is that it was really well thought of, it's not just simply putting the lyrics 'we were the Kings and Queens of promise' but the layout was well done with a crown and those nice swirly designs (sorry don't know what there called) :)

I heart band shirts! :)

You can check out We Heart Prints for more giveaways and souvenirs. :)

Shopstopper Online Store

Like any other regular girl - I love clothes and fashion! There was a time in high school when I would design and sew my own clothes but my mom nipped that dream in the bud before it had time to grow. I guess mom knows best since I can't sew straight to save my life anyways.

I love going through your regular tyange and just going round and round through the stalls trying to look for that piece that fits you well and just has you written all over it. Aside from the regular tyange run I also love browsing through online shops for great finds. I can spend hours just going through photos and albums of clothes online and just drool over the great tops, dresses, pants and skirts I see in online stores - oh! the woes of being a girl!

While there are beautiful things to love about clothes and shopping as any girl would bear witness to there are also some hick-ups. One of my pet peeves is running into someone with the exact same top/clothes that you have, it is such a pet peeve of mine that I would literally change or wear a jacket over if my colleague and I have the same clothes. Unfortunately mass production has made having the same top/clothes with someone really possible and the worst nightmare of running into someone while wearing the same clothes happens more often than we'd like.

That's why I love Shopstopper Online Store because all the pieces are so unique and some just scream real good vintage finds and all of them at great thrift prices- which I just love (even more)

Girl Power at Sundance Bazaar

Posting before crashing to sleep. Haven't had sleep yet and we still got work in a few hours. :P Pardon the lack of coherence or writing prowess and quality in this post since there is none - deprived of sleep. Anyhow ~

After catching an advanced screening of Rush in Makati ~ great movie by the way, blogging about that soon and passing by the Odyssey office to pick up prizes for Fall Out Boy Night 2 for tomorrow - which we are sponsoring by the way we passed by the Sundance Bazaar in Metro Walk to check out Julz Savard's clothing line - Good Girl.

Julz who I adore and whose band Save Me Hollywood is making a noise in the local music scene also has fashion as one of her passions and Good Girl is her baby.

She has teamed up with other young and talented entrepreneurs Mercedes Espina for Morphed - bags and Polina for Moonbeam - check out those cute flower crowns! Instant fairy princess! :)

Check out the girls at the Sundance Bazaar at Metro tent, its air conditioned so its not the sweaty inconvenient bazaar type. :p

Pardon the no sleep look - coz that's exactly what I am at the moment - no sleep! :P

Sundance Bazaar is happening Friday until Sunday at the Metro Tent in Metrowalk - don't miss it! ^__^
