A new animated adventure in Warner Bros. Pictures’ LEGO® franchise, “The LEGO NINJAGO® Movie” stars Dave Franco, Justin Theroux, Fred Armisen, Abbi Jacobson, Olivia Munn, Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Peña, Zach Woods, and the legendary Jackie Chan.

In this big-screen NINJAGO adventure, the battle for NINJAGO City calls to action young Master Builder Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, who are all secret ninja warriors.  Led by Master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat evil warlord Garmadon, The Worst Guy Ever, who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad.  Pitting mech against mech and father against son, the epic showdown will test this fierce but undisciplined team of modern-day ninjas who must learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash their inner power of Spinjitzu.

Jackie Chan (“Kung Fu Panda,” The Karate Kid”) stars as Master Wu; Justin Theroux (“Megamind 2,” “The Leftovers”) is Garmadon; Dave Franco (“Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising”) plays Lloyd; and Olivia Munn (“X-Men: Apocalypse”) is Lloyd’s mom, Koko.  Making up the secret ninja crew, Michael Peña (“Ant-Man,” “The Martian”) is Kai; Fred Armisen (“The Jim Gaffigan Show,” “SNL”) voices Cole; KumailNanjiani (“Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates”) is Jay; Abbi Jacobson (“Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising”) plays Nya; and Zach Woods (“Silicon Valley”) voices Zane.

Upcoming Movies: The LEGO Movie

I was really excited when I heard that there was going to be a LEGO Movie, which is why I'm already blogging about it even if it still hits theaters next year. 

I know that Paul is extra excited too since he is a big LEGO fan. It's funny because I only found out about his love for LEGO after we got married and we were already dating for six years then, if I found out that he liked LEGO earlier I would have integrated that in the theme of our wedding instead of just Japanese Cherry Blossoms as the theme. Oh well maybe in our future kid's birthday theme :) 

When I first saw the trailer for the movie below - I just loved it I mean this is a stop motion/computer animated movie of toys and heroes we all know and love, characters we all grew up with but with the cheesiness aside it's also going to be a fun family movie since it's going to be a big adventure with lots of laughs on the sides for sure. Check out the trailer below! 

1947 is the traditional date set for the first LEGO blocks and they have remained significant 66 years later and is now considered one of the most iconic brands today. Despite of all the new toys and video games that have come out over the years, LEGO has maintained its huge following and is enjoyed by generations of children (both actual children and kids at heart). 

The story of the movie revolves around Emmet (Chris Pratt) an ordinary LEGO mini figure who is mistaken as the MasterBuilder and joins a quest to stop the evil President Business (Will Ferrel) who is bent on destroying the LEGO universe by gluing it together. Emmet is joined by the tough LEGO chick Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks), the old mystic Vitruvius (Mogran Freeman) and Batman (Will Arnett). 

The LEGO Movie is set to come out in 2014 and is directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller who also created Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and is distributed by Warner Brothers.     

Project 365: Week 8

March 14, 2013 - Tribute to childhood

Week 8 of Project 365 has been a challenge for me, since I couldn't keep on bringing my camera with me, and I think that I'm pretty predictable and repetitive of the shots that I've been doing.  So, as the project's objective is to improve and learn more about photography,  I plan to change it up.  And I thought how I'd make this 'change'?  

So I stared blank into the oblivion in thought and got to the conclusion to shoot with my iPhone.  I have already done it a few times so what the heck!

Here on the photo on the left is LEGO brick from one of my surviving toys from my bachelor days.  Like I said, I was repeating what I already done, which is shooting macro, with a reverse ringed kit lens on a Canon 500d, remotely triggered a flash positioned at around 11 o clock.



Again I'm still not taking down notes on strobe settings and not laying out the EXIF data since I'm writing from the office again.  Sorry.

March 15, 2013 - Old reliable

On the photo above, it's a pair of Nike Dunk that I have-for years now.  I'm happy to say that this pair has never seen any shoe repair man-yet, but it's still alive and pretty much kicking.  As you can see, flash is setup for this shot to highlight the shoe's right side edge to get that texture off of the rubber.  Shot with my ever so reliable 500d, with a kit lens.  Post processed in Lightroom 4 to get red tint into the mix.

March 16, 2013 - RDOT organizers

Ica was invited to attend Rest Day OT Jam Sessions 2.  It's a musical gig where in people who work in Business Processing Outsource do their thing.  Ica had a friend who performed on the said event but unfortunately we missed her band play, because I had to report to work.

Shot with the Canon 500d, with a 50mm f/1.8.  Nothing fancy pretty straight forward.  In post processing I bumped up the contrast and saturated the image a little bit.  I kind of liked B-Side bar in Makati, it has a nice vibe to it and it had lots of graffiti.  To bad I didn't shoot a panoramic photo of the place. All in all I had a blast shooting the gig.
